Cro Junior Member Member # 2249 | Posted February 26, 2002 09:15 PM Hi, can you help answering two questions related to working/living in Netherlands (I am Romanian citizen): 1. Is my work permit linked to the company that obtained it for me (or I can work for any other employer as long the permit is valid) 2. what is the process of getting dutch citizenship (now I have a residence permit based on my workpermit) Thanks in advance for your help, Cro |
Red Indian Member Member # 1438 | Posted March 06, 2002 04:33 PM hi, if you check the site www.expatica.com -> netherlands, you'll get all your answers. you'll have to dig a bit in the web-site and wont be readily available to you. hope this helps ! |
Elfa Member Member # 5 | Posted March 13, 2002 10:14 AM Hi Cro 1) the work permit is definitely linked to the employer - if you want to change jobs, your new employer must apply for a new work permit on your behalf 2) you can get permanent residency after three years of working and living in NL, which would allow you to work sans work permit. You will have to check with the MFA to find out how to go about applying for citizenship thereafter. Best regards Elfa -------------------- Elfa Kere, Consultant |
frooky Junior Member Member # 2462 | Posted March 20, 2002 08:08 AM Hi Elfa, Is that indeed correct? My WP/residency permit is valid to the end of my 3rd year here. At the end of that time I can apply for a normal Perm Res and work without jumping through permit hoops? Could you confirm? If so thats good news. |
Elfa Member Member # 5 | Posted March 28, 2002 05:05 PM Hi Frooky ' I can confirm that you can indeed be granted permanent residency status after three years of consecutive employment in the Netherlands. Good luck! Elfa -------------------- Elfa Kere, Consultant |
