Elfa Member Member # 5 | Posted March 13, 2002 09:59 AM Hi Harvard Thanks for posting! After three years of working in the Netherlands (continuously) you can apply for permanent residency. You can change jobs if your new employer is willing to apply for a new work permit for you. Your residence card will stay the same. After three years of residence and working there, you can apply for PR. Hope this answers your questions! Best regards Elfa -------------------- Elfa Kere, Consultant |
harvard Junior Member Member # 2265 | Posted March 23, 2002 05:56 PM Thanks indeed. However, my resident permit stated that the employment only limit to my current employer. I am really not sure if I should change my resident permit which states that the employment limited to the new employer or not. -------------------- harvard |

harvard Junior Member Member # 2265 | Posted April 18, 2002 11:14 AM Dear Sirs, I want to introduce myself. I got indefinite contract to work in the Netherlands. However when I see the work permit, it is only valid for one year. What is the reason between the mismatch of employment contract and work permit. Any way to appeal the authority to get a three year work permit rather than a one year one. Regards, Mike -------------------- harvard |
harvard Junior Member Member # 2265 | Posted May 02, 2002 10:12 AM 1. I just got a three year work permit. What does it mean? Is it a normal work permit that can let me get permance residency after three years? 2. I am in the process to change my employer. Any one can tell me which aspects I have to pay attention to when I change my employer. Particularly in the future when I apply for permanent residency. Regards, Mike -------------------- harvard |

stomp Junior Member Member # 3280 | Posted May 05, 2002 10:34 PM As far as we know at the Amsterdam Law faculty, you can apply for a permanent resident permit after five years(new law april 1 2001). However after three years working with the same company you are free to look for another company without the need for a workpermit and with the new contract your non permanent r.permit will be renewed! As for the mismatch contract-workpermit:every year(max.3X) you will have to renew the workpermit, they want to check if you are still working at the place, renewal is relatively a quick and simple procedure Regards [ May 05, 2002: Message edited by: stomp ] |
