Suppose there is a company in Belgium that wants to hire me to do some contract-based work, for period of 1-3 years; they want me to be an independent contractor, not employee. I am not from EU, how can I get my paperwork done in this case? apply for a WP through some umbrella company? any other ideas?

HI Witt

You will need a Belgian company or Belgian citizen who is an employee of a Belgian company to "sponsor" your work permit. We can assist in arranging this if you would like to use our services. Please contact me on belgium@workpermit.com for more information about this process.

If you want to establish your own business in Belgium and work as a freelancer, then you may wish to apply for a Belgian Professional card.

WE can provide you with details of these requirements and assist you with the process of applying if you wish to use our services.

Hope this helps!
