Juggler Member Member # 2456 | Posted April 01, 2002 05:21 PM What are the chances of getting a work permit in Germany these days for people with skills in IT? What skills are considered hot? Any detailed answer would be helpful. Thanks [ April 01, 2002: Message edited by: Jobseeker ] |
Juggler Member Member # 2456 | Posted April 01, 2002 09:21 PM One more thing. Most or say all jobs that I see in Germany require fluent German. How is someone supposed to be fluent in German while living outside Germany? Is it really possible to get a job in Germany without a knowledge of German language? If yes, what are the chances? |
Marcis Member Member # 4 | Posted April 02, 2002 01:54 PM Hi, Here are a few German IT jobseeker websites with English language options that you might want to check out to get a better idea of "what's hot" in Germany these days: No, German language skills are not an absolute precondition for finding work in the local the IT industry. However, German language knowledge is certainly a considerable advantage, especially for those who are doing the jobhunt themselves (without help from an agency). Matts Junior Member Member # 2842 | Posted April 10, 2002 01:03 PM Being a non EU national, my experience gaining a WP in germany was quite frustrating. What seems to be critical is that you have sponsorship from a german national and that you have a valid job offer from a german firm. Not many firms are willing to wait the 6 months it took for german immigration to approve my visa and working permit. That was a long story .......but that was 4 years ago, maybe they have kulled off some of their world famous bureacracy. Good luck! |
