Hi, everybody! Just wondering if anybody could help.. my wife and I are married for about one year. Currently we live in the U.S.
could anyone explain, how to apply for a visa/work permit for her in Germany, please? If it's as hard as getting a green card and work permit in the US, we'll leave it.. lol

Have you contacted the German consulate? I'd suggest getting all the paperwork taken care of via the consulate while you're still in the States, my assumption being that the caseload of your local German consulate is far lower than that of the immigration center in Germany.
Can't speak for Germany, but when I immigrated to France with my French (God, what a mistake, but we'll save that for another post), the French consulate in Chicago took care of alot of the paperwork and explained what we had to do once we got to France. Once there, I had my work/residence permit within two weeks.
