I am moving from Switzerland where I had a valid student visa, but I am an American citizen. All the companies ask if I have a work visa, but I thought the companies themselves would be able to acquire this for me once they have decided to contract me. What is the best way of getting doing this? Apply first for the visa, then the job? or Vice Versa? Thanks for any help. Karna

You must find a job with an employer that is willing to sponsor you. Most companies don’t want to bother and that’s why you get asked about it. You have no choice but keep trying.
