Wawah Junior Member Member # 4053 | Posted June 24, 2002 08:45 PM I have American friend who is madly in love with German woman. He is planning to move to Germany to be with her on tourist visa. However, there are no plans to marry or be engaged. I have told him that he not allowed stay in the EU more than 90 days per year as tourist. He think that no one will check nor notice how long he stay. He say he have money saved up so he dont need to work and can just live off savings. But who knows, he may get bored after some months and try start working. I think this whole thing is bad idea and I have tried to talk him out of it. I do believe his passport will get stamped when he enter Germany from US and eventually it will be noticed that he has overstayed. For example, when he try to leave! What are the consequences of this behaviour? |

He needs to be careful because if he tries to leave Germany they will most likely see the date he has been there since. |

SO, 3 months in every six month period. You can make a lot of trips, but the totall should be no more than 3 months in a six month period!!! That gives you the right to stay six months per year!!! If you just stay, Germans will deport you, and you will be banned to enter the EU for some years. |
