The consulate for my state in the US hasn't replyed to my inquiries. My girlfriend lives and works in France and is a French citizen, I am a US resident and citizen. We are considering marriage here in the States possibly in August of this year because of the lesser paperwork involved (i.e. official translations of my birth certificate, 'certificate of celibacy', etc) than in France. I would like to reside in France as soon as September and have the appropriate visa, "Carte de Resident," and/or any other needed paperwork. I understand that if we marry in the US, the marriage will be honored (legal) in France. Is this correct? All information will be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help. |
