Laura if you qualify for a working visa in Canada then you can apply for one in Canada which will allow you to go over to Ireland and look for jobs. No need to ask here for work, there are lots of jobs for students that have working visas over there.

Dear Dipak,

Information regarding immigration to Ireland / WP are both available on the national websites of Ireland. But its too much of procedure that you have to go through and need serious working.

What i am interested here is to develope a community which would each other in finding Jobs there and also if i would have any in my knowledge i would paste there as i am already in a Irirsh related Setup.

Please keep updating the Message board in future.

Hi,

I have heard that Ireland is changing their work permit law for Non-EU civilians. Right now, they are giving work visas directly, without any interview. I have heard that now, from 1st August 2002, they are going to make interview compulsory for non-eu resident. Is this a true news? or truth is something else?

I was just wondering if you could answer a few questions regarding Irish Visa's. I have been sponsered by a company for the past 18 months and was wondering what the deal is with regards to seeking new employment within Ireland and the issues involved in changing the visa. At the moment companies are asking about visa details and it appears to be hindering employment because of the hassle of the paperwork involved to employ a non EU citizen. Is there an easy route for the Employer??

Also I was wondering if a partner could possibly sponser you or a member of there family if they are an Irish national. I heard there maybe a partner/spouse type of visa but cant seem to find any information on it anywhere.

Thanks in Advance

If you are married to a EU citizen, you can stay with this person together in Ireland. No unmarried partners are recognized, though.

I don't quite understand what is the purpose of this topic. I am not sure that there will be any employers interested in looking for people like that, especially taking into consideration the current situation with work permits.

It takes a minimum of 3 months to obtain a work permit (that is if no one of those reponsible gets sick, goes on holidays or just oversleeps for work)... It is a pretty intimidating procedure for inexperienced employers which makes me a bit more sceptical.

Anyway, good luck with the forum and I will try to share any information I have about Ireland.

Hi everyone,

There are still many people asking "How can I get a work permit/working visa so that I can start look for a job in Ireland?" or something the like.

Please consider the following: you need a job offer from an Irish company company first. It is not possible to obtain a work permit and then start looking for a job - you've got to do it the other way around.

We do recognize that most potential employers in Ireland (and in fact in most countries of the world) would not even consider you for a job interview if you do not already hold a work permit for their country. The reason is that they are usually rather ignorant of work permit application procedures and they do not want to go through this 'extra hassle' for hiring a new employee. This leads to a classical 'chicken and egg' situation: they don't want to hire you if you don't have a work permit, but you can't get a work permit if there's no one who wants to hire you.

To help you in this difficult situation, we have invented the Workpermit.com Assessment Certificate. The basic idea is to assure potential employers that if they wish to hire you, Workpermit.Com is happy to handle the work permit application on their behalf.

If you wish to order an assessment certificate, please visit the following URL: http://www.workpermit.com/certificate.htm

Apart from that, here are some websites for online jobsearch in Ireland:

www.jobserve.com www.firsttuesday.com www.planterecruit.com www.marlborough.ie

Some Irish newspaper sites with information on job vacancies:

www.examiner.ie www.loadza.com www.ireland.com www.sbpost.ie www.tribune.ie

I hope this will be helpful.
