If you have a british passport, check on the front cover, and it should say: European Union United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or if it was issured a few years ago it will say: European Community United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Maybe if it was issued a few more years ago it might just say United Kingdom of etc.. But it is still a European Union Passport, because it is of a EU member state.
