Hi everybody.
I have 2 questions:
1. How and How much german language I have to know to find a job in Germany? (regardless of my field of study and job)
2. Is german language a common language in Austria-Belgium-Netherlands-Denmark? I mean if I know english well and german not bad, is it enough to get employment in those four countries?
Thank you for all your advices.

As far as the Netherlands goes -

Most Dutch would rather speak ANY language other than German and it is not commonly spoken here...at least happily. I have never seen a job requiring or even requesting German...there might be some multinational jobs/customer service jobs that might require it...but generally speaking - no - it will probably not help you in finding a job here.

You will need either Dutch or English, preferably both. You may be able to get away with only English for a year or two - but then, you will be expected to be able to start using Dutch socially. A year or two after that, you will be expected to be able to use it at work.

Cheers,

Chana

You can speak at least English (it was my case) but as soon as you come over here, you better have to learn German.

I missed this second point and lost my job because of that, they were saying that I was refusing to integrate myself (but it was because I had not enough time to learn because of the overwhelming work they were giving me) but now, I got a job in a company that was patient and now, things are ok.

I'm one of the 3 greencard holders of my country and me and the one that got it after are both in companies and speak now German, the 3rd is no longer here becasue even his level of English was low, so he moved to France.
