However, once you would have worked in Austria for 12 months, your Austrian employer may temporarily assign you on a project in the Netherlands (for up to 6 months), and you would then not require a Dutch work permit (van der Elst case). But even then, if you would switch employers or stay in the Netherlands for more than 6 months, you'd have to apply for a Netherlands WP. Hope this helps.
