I am leaving for Ireland in the beginning of December. I am 17 years old, and I will be 18 on February 12, 2003. I am American.
I want to stay in Ireland for the next two years, and then marry my boyfriend, who lives in Ireland, and I would like to be able to work either full time or part time.
I have a place to live in Ireland, and my family will be giving me a bit of money.
As I understand it, I have to ask for permission to stay in Ireland only AFTER I get there. This frightens me because I am scared they will say no, and I will have to go back home after the three months are up, and that would ruin all my plans, not the mention waste a lot of money.
My question is, how can I insure that I will not be rejected, and how can I get a work permit to work in Ireland?
I have researched this and come away with practically no answers.
