Hi:

I have a rather strange question relating to a French Schengen Tourist visa. I recently went to Paris by coach and being a South African citizen had to obtain a French Schengen visa to do so. I have heard that if the French embassy do not see evidence of you using that visa (e.g. an entrance or exit stamp to or from France) they may refuse to issue you another visa in the future claiming that you did not use your first one (this actually happened to someone I know). My problem is that because I went to France by coach (and therefore crossed the channel by ferry) my passport was not stamped with either an entrance or exit stamp into France because there are no French immigration checks with the ferry. Because there were no immigration checks, there is no record in my passport of me every having been to France. How do I get around this when I apply for another French visa in the future?

Thanks
David
