Hello, I would like to know if the job which I do is skilled or unskilled. I work with young offenders my role is 'Reparation Officer' I deal with young offenders after they have been to court. I would very much like to work in Australia, I have already found out that 'Restorative Justice' is something which is being used in Australia, so there is a call for it. Could I apply without having a job to go to?

Also I spent a year in Australia on a 'working/holiday visa' three years ago, does this help or hinder an application?

Thank you for any help.

Hi Maz

Unfortunately, "Reparation Officer" is not found on the Australian Skilled Occupations List and is therefore not considered a "skilled" occupation. If your occupation can be considered a Parole or Probation Officer, then your occupation would be considered skilled and you would be granted 40 points for your skill. If you would like an initial assessment of your chances to migrate to Australia, you should complete our Immigration Appraisal Form available on our website at http://www.workpermit.co.uk/australia/appraisal_form.htm

We will then be able to provide you with a full assessment of your chances to apply for a permanent residency visa. Having travelled to Australia on a Working Holiday Visa might help but will certainly not harm your application.

All the best,

Elfa
