Hi Elfa

I have begun looking in to the process of applying for a work visa in Austrailia. However the basic requirements under the generic degree category differ, between this website and this other website][URL=http://iscah.com] they have listed 50 points with 2 of last 3 years in any skilled occupation whereas your website list 50points but with 3- 4yrs experience .
I have a business degree one yr post grad in Comp science and by the time and I have almost 2yr work experience

Another Question: Can I still apply now even though i do not have adequate experience because by the time my visa is processed I will have enough experience or do I have to wait till i get the 3 yr work experience and then apply?

Ihope you understand both my questions

Thanks
Lisa

Hi Lisa

The basic requirement of recent work experience, if your nominated occupation is worth 50 points, state that you must have worked in skilled employment (i.e. in any occupation listed on the SOL) for at least TWO of the last THREE years.

In order to claim additional points for specific work experience, you must have worked THREE out of the past FOUR years in your NOMINATED occupation (if your occupation is worth 60 points) or THREE out of the past FOUR years in SKILLED employment (if your occupation is worth less than 60 points)

Our website should have the proper information on this - if you would let me know where you read this misinformation on our website, I will have our web designer change this - thanks!

Regarding your other question, as long as you have at least 2 years work experience and your occupation is worth 50 points then you should be able to apply now. However, I am not quite certain you would pass the points test overall. I would suggest you complete our Immigration Appraisal form on http://www.workpermit.com/australia/appraisal_form.htm for a free assessment of your chances to migrate to Australia as an ICT Professional.

Best regards

Hi Witt

Thanks for your comments! DIMA's website does contain official information but can be rather difficult to navigate, according to some people, as well as to find the information you are looking for. They also don't have a message board!
