Dear all,

My Mom is living now with my sister in Melbourne, Australia. In 1996, she moved to Australia from Vietnam, and now got an Aussie citizenship. Unfortunately, there was an error in declaration at the time she filed her document. This error was made by a tourism agency in Vietnam. That is she has only 2 daughters only in her file. In fact, my Mom has 3 children (2 daughters and 1 son- it's me). Legally speaking, I will never unify with my Mom in Aus. She was scared of correcting again the file because of being accused lying in declaration.

I am doing M.A degree in Thailand and wish to go to Australia after my graduation in Summer 2002. My question is: 'is it a problem for me if I apply for a visa? And will my Mom have troubles with Aus government?'

I would appreaciate very much if you could help me understand my more clearly my problem.

Thank you so much in advance. I am truly looking forward to your great help and advices.

Hi

I don't think you should have a problem getting a visa for Australia as long as you are completely honest in your application. If your mother's situation is mentioned by the visa officers, you can explain the matter to them. Surely this will not impact your visa application.

Hope this helps.
