dinesh Junior Member Member # 1243 | Posted December 27, 2001 10:23 AM Hi Elfa I am an Indian national; and a graduate and Chartered accountant and planning to migrate I wish to know whether Chartered accountancy qualifies as a Master course? In India how much time it normally takes for Visa processing? ASOL is on what basis - Qualification or experience? Though by training and qualification i am an accountant but my work experience does not relate to accountancy. will i qualify as an "accountant" as pere ASOL (60 points) or Do I need to be a member of some australian accountancy Institute in order to be qualified as "accountant". I had my graduation and CA in english. do i need to take IELTS?

Anind Junior Member Member # 1020 | Posted January 11, 2002 08:54 AM consider IELTS as must. Though its not an absolute necessary but in majority of the cases it is insisted. So consider that it is a must. U must proceed with getting yr qualifications assessed by ICAA/Aus go to ICAA website for procedure and forms its www.icaa.org.au U should be assessed in positive. Qualification assessment is generally done in 2 months and it will cost u AUD350 payable to ICAA. Ony after having yr qualification assessed and IELTS cleared u should proceed with Immigration application. ASOL is based more on qualifications but there r certain basic requirements as to experince for General Skilled Immi. Both r necessary. For Immi u need not be a member of any AUS instt. But after immi u should consider upgrading yr qualification by passing additional papers and becoming member of the same.
