i dont have any experience

2)my course is 1.5 years long and i will be coming on students visa.
can i apply for PR immediately after coming to Australia in March 2002 or i will have to wait till i complete my education.

3)what are the chances of getting PR on having australian qualification in Information Technology(Masters) but having no experience?
hope for your guidence.

Hi Sachin

1) Yes you are eligible for applying for PR after you complete your Master's degree from an Australian institution. You do not need to meet the basic requirement of recent work experience, but you MUST hold a satisfactory skills assessment for a nominated occupation worth 60 points before applying.

2) You will need to wait until you have completed your education. Since you are an IT Professional the application should only take a few months to process.

3) It might be difficult to get a suitable assessment of your skills and qualifications by the ACS if you have no experience. However, if you are able to become a member of the ACS then you would automatically gain a suitable skills assessment and then have a very good chance of gaining a PR visa for Australia.

Hope this has been helpful!

Regards

Hi Sachin (just fyi, I am a miss and not a sir)

1) ACS is the Australian Computer Society, which is the relevant assessing authority for IT Professionals in Australia.

I would advise you to contact the ACS for membership information. There should be a link on this website for them under Assessing Authorities

2) Next changes to immigration law may or may not take place in July 2002. We are unable to predict what new laws will be formed or how the rules or points system will be affected, unfortunately. You may wish to try and contact an Australian government official or see the DIMA website for information on future changes.

3) If the changes make it harder to pass the points test then this may impact your application but again, we have no way of knowing how immigration laws will change in the future.

Hope this helps!
