The first year is now up and I know I would like to stay here past the two years - what is the best way to convert to Migration. Do it myself or ask my employer to sponser me? |

| Elfa Member Member # 5 | Posted February 27, 2002 04:20 PM Hi Joel You would only be able to apply for PR under the Skilled categories offshore - this means you must be outside of Australian when the app is lodged and outside when the visa is granted. Otherwise, if your employer is willing to sponsor you for PR under the Employer-Sponsored category, then you could probably stay in Australia. | Elfa Member Member # 5 | Posted March 13, 2002 04:28 PM Hi Jak Technically, yes, you could do this, but your Long-Stay Temp Bus visa will be revoked when the permanent residency visa is granted.
