ggn Junior Member Member # 2027 | Posted February 27, 2002 06:34 AM Hi, I recently got a letter from the ASCPA stating that I have qualified to migrate under the occupation of an 'Accountant', (independent skilled category), (it was successful as a result of completing the compulsory 3 subjects which the CPA recommended I complete. I completed the 3 subjects in a masters degree in accounting from Oz itself) Immediately on completion, I got a job with a US MNC in Singapore as a Technology Sales person, where I have been working for the past 13 months. My nominated occupation thus, is an ''Accountant'' ASCO Code 2211-11, worth 60 points, which is found both, on the SOL and MODL. The recent work experience(minimum 12 months prior to applying) I have is in another occupation, namely that of a technology sales person, (Sales representative - Information and Communication Products, ASCO Code 2222-13 found on the SOL, and worth 50 points). I am given to understand from the guidebook for independent skilled migration that though your nominated occupation is a particular one, you can have 12 months experience in any occupation that is listed on the SOL. My query is: In the event that there is no problem, and this can be done, my query is: When I present testimonials of my work experience (for 12 months as a Sales Support Specialist of a technology (information and communications) company, what exactly in terms of roles and responsibilities within my job function, should I outline in the letter. Is there any website (like NOOSR for instance, that outlines roles for certain occupations) that outlines the roles and responsibilities of a ''Technology Sales Representative'', based on which I can then prepare my work experience letters? I would be highly obliged, if someone would respond with substantial answers as soon as time and convenience permits and help me lodge the application as soon as possible. Rgds |
