Has anyone got experience of how long it takes to really get processed from the London Office. They have increased the website information to 20 months We applied August 2001. We have been advised that IT and Nursing got priority and have been finished. Anyone also waiting or have heard anything.

I applied at the same time as you.

I am a professor of computer science. I received a letter about a month ago asking for employment verification and transcripts (which I had previously provided to the skills assessment), but have not heard anything since.

I am told that I should still be receiving from DIMA a background check and medical paperwork to fill out. I just don't understand why they can't ask for everything at one time instead of doing a little bit, then waiting months, then doing a little bit more.

We sent off everything all in one go, so they have medicals and police checks, and skills assessments.
I think if you are Computer Science/IT related then you are getting priority. Nurses are getting next prioryt. I'm applying under General Management skills, so I don't know where I am in the queue. They are currently quoting 20 months from the London office which means May 2003!

We'd like to go over in January 2003 to get our kids in school in the new school year.

Let me know how you get on. Good luck.

I was told to wait until they ask for the medicals and background check. I guess because the paperwork that is required may change... then you'd have to fill out the new paperwork.

I wanted to leave in June of this year. Don't think it is going to happen however.

Hi

Processing times are always longer than you may think. I heard of someone calling the High Commission (who was not an IT Pro or Nurse) and they quoted him 24 months a while ago. Just sit tight and you should hear something soon, hopefully!

good luck!
