My husband and I have applied for PR status but my husband was actually a permenant resident of Canada from 1979 until 1994 when he was 19 and came back to the UK to work. He was resident for 14/15 years and has been out for nearly 10. He wants to return but assumes he has lost PR status. We don't really know who to talk to about it; whether a trip to the High Commission would be worth it or not.
