katmcgreene Junior Member Member # 7621 | Posted February 19, 2004 10:07 PM Hi, Please could someone help me. I hold a professional qualification (a Human Resources CIPD qualification, 4yrs of part-time study) which is eqivalent to a postgraduate qualification. Could someone tell me the points for education I could claim. Many thanks Kathleen |

Cosmopol Member Member # 7165 | Posted February 21, 2004 03:04 PM Canadian authrities generally award score points for education "levels" rather than particular programs or types of certificates. A completed degree (or perhaps an equivalent, if able to prove it) is the easiest to assess the number of points. Short of that, one may go by the number of full-time years (or equivalent) spent studying. My guess is that you'd score 22 points with what you have, but an immigration officer who'd know your entire education path may award a different number, of course. Applicant should evaluate his/her degree somewhere in Canada (and receive something above Bachelor from recognizes university) to be granted 22-25 points. Another way to obtain 22 points is to submit some world-wide recognized professional certificate together with university diploma. If 20 points for education is enough for applicant, he/she may not bother him/herself with evaluation process mentioned above. |
