Online job adverts as evidence?

Post by kikori » Tue Dec 21, 2004 12:13 am

Hi there,

I'm putting together my application now and I need to answer the 'what arrangements have you made to seek work' question.

I am outside the UK and I do not currently have a job offer or even interviews set up. All of the recruiters who specialize in my line of work have said that even with the HSMP application filed, employers aren't willing to wait for 1-2 months, or possibly up to 6 months, for me to start work; they won't pay to fly me over for interviews when there's no guarantee (yet) that I can work in the country; and they don't want to waste their time on interviewing me for that same reason. Fortunately, there's a reasonably high demand for my job, so I know that finding a job once in the country on the HSMP won't be too much of a problem.

There's an option for 'job adverts for relevant posts' as evidence, but are printed (as in, File -> Print in your favorite browser) copies of job adverts found online considered valid evidence? It's difficult or near impossible to find adverts in print (as in magazines and trade journals) -- it's nearly all online, either on job search engines, or on individual company websites.

Am I able to print some of these out, demonstrating that my kind of work is in demand, and would they be accepted as valid?

If not, what *could* I present?

I used online advertising and copies of emails from recruitment agencies, that shows that I took actions to search for employement.

I submitted online advertisements as well. I think that should be fine.
