opinion required regarding section 5a of vaf9

dear board members,

i will be applying for tier 1 general visa in coming week. altough i am married and have a kid however i want to apply alone at this point in time. pls suggest what should i mention in part 5a of the vaf9, specifically in 5.1 which goes like: "Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later?"

and what about 5.6: "Do you have any children under 18 accompanying you or joining you at a later date?" the confusion here is: i do have a child under 18 but he wont be ccompanying me. if i select no from the option, the form tells me to leave the section where i can give information of my child. i m confused as if i do not give info of my child here, it might create issues for me later when i would want him to apply.

You could answer yes and explain in part 7 that the travel dates have not been finalised yet. They will not be accompanying you now but will join you later in UK.

i just checked the guidance of vaf9, if i answer yes, i will have to supply legal documentary evidence for verification of relationship. my son is only few months old and i dont have any legal document which could verify his relationship with me. due to immigration cap, i have to apply this friday and no leagal document can be made before that. pls suggest appropriate response in this case.

Do you not have a birth certificate????

Even if not, I would still choose 'Yes' and explain that there is no legal document to produce at the moment and that you would produce the document when applying for your child's dependant visa.

If you choose 'No', you are lying.

If you choose 'No', you are lying.

I have a birth certificate from the hospital where the baby was born. it doesnt have baby's name. would that do?

Send that and explain in your cover letter. Dont think about it too much. You are not applying for your dependants now. You are only applying for yourself. You are just producing the dependants documents because they will join you later. If you dont have proper documents, as I mentioned in previous posts, just explain in your cover letter that you have dependants who will join you later but at the moment you do not have documents to prove the relationship and you would produce it when applying for their visa. I am sure it wont affect your visa application. After all you are being honest..
