I waited to begin job hunting in earnest until about 2 weeks ago, as I felt that employers and recruiters really wouldn't take me seriously if I wasn't arriving in the UK for another month or so. I can now say that I could interview in less than 2 weeks, which seems to be received well.
Certainly no concrete job prospects on the horizon for me yet, but I've been very pleasantly surprised by the way I've been treated so far by both the recruiters I've spoken with and on the one phone interview I've had.
Not only have I not had to explain the meaning of HSMP to any of them, but almost all of them have congratulated me on obtaining it. I'm actually starting to think that having this visa garners a bit of extra respect...as though they actually *do* see us as highly-skilled

We'll see how things progress, but I just thought I would let others who are in the same step in the process (or on their way to it) know that the job hunt isn't as traumatic as I expected!
