Is original degree required during visa application process?

Is the original degree required during the visa application process? I have to send my original degree to another state in India for attestation, a process which takes 3-4 days including the transit time

Most probably, I'll have it back before the appointment to give biometrics. But would it be a problem in case I don't have it?

Thanks geriatrix, I'll go through this section. I guess it's better to do the attestation after a decision has been made for the visa
