Emergency Visa Appointment & Child Birth Certificate

Hello All,

I have an emergency India visa appointment for my son (2 months old) next week Monday. I do not have his original birth certificate as it's still with the HMPO when we applied for his British passport. Just wondering in case does the Visa officer requires to see the original birth certificate or the photocopy will work ?
If anyone have any experience or any knowledge please share.
