Family emergency overseas

Dear senior members,
I have applied for renewal of INDIA passport 10 days ago. Unfortunately my mother is seriously ill in INDIA and hospitalised. I contacted embassy and they have informed processing times have increased due to new software updates.
I requested them to send my passport quickly and i haven't got satisfactory response.Iam so desperate to travel and visit my mom to see her in last stage. Is there any other option to travel on emergency basis?
How should i approach the INDIAN embassy. Does any one know working contact number or what to do next?

I guess you have option to travel on Travel Documents in emergency. Embassy charge certain amount to give you. Which you can use to travel. I am not sure what happens while returning.
