India Tourist Visa processing time.

Hi,

I have applied for OCI recently but I don't think I will receive it before my travel date to India. So, I am planning to apply for tourist/Visitor Visa to India.

Has anyone applied recently and received the result ? If yes, can you suggest how long does it take processing of the Tourist Visa ?

Also, while filing up the Tourist Visa application, we need to fill the nationality. I was an Indian citizen and now became British Citizen. Will I enter nationality as UK BRITISH OVERSEES CITIZEN or UK BRITISH NATIONAL(OVERSEES) or any other option ? Please suggest! Thanks.

I would be really grateful if anyone can respond to this query please ?

Hi cracker1234 - I applied for my minor son's OCI today at the VFS Goswell centre and asked about tourist visa turnaround times. Was told 3-5 working days. I note that in another thread, someone else asked the same question last week as was told to apply 10-15 days in advance. In the absence of knowing someone who has actually applied and been successful, it's probably safer to assume the more conservative timeframe

I was told yesterday 5 working days at VFS Goswell. The lady said its actually usually 3 working days but they say 5 to be on the safe side. We'll find out - my flights are in exactly a week's time

I had my appointment last Thursday. Got a text from VFS on Monday and got all my passports with the Tourist Visa yesterday (8th Feb). So 3 working days. All set to travel later this week! Will submit an OCI application on return
