Indian Tourist/Entry Visa without surrendering Indian Passport

Hi,

Am visiting my parents after 3 years in late July. I just received my British passport and there is no appointment for passport surrender until mid August.

Is it possible to apply for indian visa without surrendering passport?

Really appreciate you response.

If you have an emergency you may directly speak to HCI London via phone line or write to them explaining your emergency, they might expedite surrender certificate process and further the visa for you.

Just came across this.

You can surrender the passport at the same time when you are applying for visa. Just get the appointment for visa and explain that you also need to surrender the passport. It should be fine.
