New Born Indian Passport

Post by itscoolshashank » Fri Nov 23, 2018 10:59 pm

Hi All,
I need to apply for an Indian passport for my newborn baby. I have all the required documents for the passport.
I live in London and wanted to check if I can apply for baby passport from Birmingham passport office ?
Your input will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Shashank

Based on jurisdiction you need to apply in London branches. Why Birmingham?
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

I just looked at my notes/checklist when I applied for my kid's passport and this is what I found:

Time Frame for service: MINIMUM 8-10 working days in normal cases, from the date of submission of application & 4 – 6 weeks if the application is submitted in any of the centre falling under the jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Birmingham or Consulate General of India, Edinburgh.

So Birmingham may not be that quick after all.

By the way some appointments get cancelled so keep checking for London appointments daily.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
