OCI queries

Post by ramesh66754 » Mon Jan 18, 2016 1:01 pm

Dear Members,

I have some queries regarding OCI application and would be nice to get urgent answer to below questions.

My current status :I am born in India and had Indian passport, some days back I got British passport and recently done with my surrender certificate , my husband also Indian, he has got his British passport and OCI one year back.

1)for "Are you applying OCI on basis of Indian spouse/spouse's OCI card" , should I tick "yes" or "no" ?

2)What should I put in "Native place address" , My India home address ?

3)For "Adhar No", I do not have Adhar card, should I put NA ?

4)For "Documents Upload" , I see in the drop down list there are many options, e.g. "current passport", "Indian Origin proof", "Indian visa", "PIO Card", "Spouse OCI Card", "Relationship Certificate", "Marriage Certificate".

a) Which options I need to select from above drop down list to upload my documents as per the requirements ?

b)what documents I need to upload when I select various options from drop down list?

c) the documents I upload need to be self attested ?

5)regarding signature photo, should I sign in a blank paper, take a photo of it and then upload in jpeg format?

6)regarding "Have you/any member of your family applied for OCI registration earlier" , should I provide details of my husbands OCI ?

I would be grateful if you can please provide me answer about above questions.

Thanks

1)for "Are you applying OCI on basis of Indian spouse/spouse's OCI card" , should I tick "yes" or "no" ?
No, you yourself were Indian as well. So tick NO

2)What should I put in "Native place address" , My India home address ?
Indian home address

3)For "Adhar No", I do not have Adhar card, should I put NA ?
Leave blank

4)For "Documents Upload" , I see in the drop down list there are many options, e.g. "current passport", "Indian Origin proof", "Indian visa", "PIO Card", "Spouse OCI Card", "Relationship Certificate", "Marriage Certificate".

a) Which options I need to select from above drop down list to upload my documents as per the requirements ?
Current passport -upload naturalisation and british passport as single pdf against this option
Marriage certificate - upload it
Indian origin proof - Surrender cert and indian passport as single pdf against this option
YOu could upload Spouse OCI card as well.

b)what documents I need to upload when I select various options from drop down list?
See above
c) the documents I upload need to be self attested ?
As a safer option, i recommend uploading self attested.

5)regarding signature photo, should I sign in a blank paper, take a photo of it and then upload in jpeg format?
Correct

6)regarding "Have you/any member of your family applied for OCI registration earlier" , should I provide details of my husbands OCI ?
Yes of course

I would be grateful if you can please provide me answer about above questions.

Thanks
