Birmingham Timeline

Post by SinghinNorth » Fri Sep 13, 2013 9:18 pm

Here is my timeline for Birmingham:-

OCI Application: 01-Aug-2013 (in person, Birmingham)
OCI acknowledgement : 01-Aug-2013

OCI documents printed : 02 Sept-2013
OCI dispatched from Delhi : 04-Sept-2013
OCI documents Recd Birmingham : 13-Sept-2013

I am thinking of going in person to collect. Can anyone advice if one has to go early to collect OCI or is there a separate token for collection? Also I hope it is same day collection@Birmingham.

Urgent clarification required

Post by s.kris07 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 7:30 am

Hi all,

I have 2 queries and thanks in advance for your replies

1: The online tracking status shows that OCI has arrived in London on 12th Sept - Does this mean its ready for me to get OCI stamped and collect the letter on 16th Sept i.e. coming monday

2: OCI has arrived for me, my wife and my son. Can my father in law stand in the queue to submit our passports in the morning and collect it in the evening from OCI london? - Do me and my wife give my father in law the authorisation letter ?

Thanks again

I did and it took around 3 weeks, including 2 e-mails and a phone call...and if you read the above from Sheff, it was nearly the same for him...If possible better to go in person...

Hope this helps..

OCI

Post by Joe03 » Sun Sep 15, 2013 5:32 pm

I applied for a new OCI under miscellaneous services as I had lost my British Passport. My OCI Card is with me.

I posted copies of my OCI Card, new British Passport and Postal Order for £65.00 on 19 Aug 13. I have so far not received any confirmation and now I cannot access the Status site as well for several days - it say web page cannot be displayed.

What do I do???? Can anyone help please.

I am in London.
Sheff's application was submitted in May and he got his OCI in Aug! Mine is just a replacement, and I was informed that it would be ready in about 4 weeks.

Good point!

I need to know how to track a Miscellaneous Application (by post) Status whereby you only need an amended OCI Card and Visa sticker - can anyone help please ... ?

I have tried calling and several e-mails, but no joy at all.

I have applied on 19 Aug 2013 and still no acknowledgement. Also, I cannot now access the Status website!

I would like to share my experience @ HCI london submitting OCI application. It was rather not a bad one at all. I was out of HCI by 1pm.

Some good advise for you.

- Submit OCI application in person if possible. submit & Print online form. Do not fill in the paper based application forms as they are no longer valid.
- Refer to Hcilondon website prior to application submission
- Reach HCI/consulate as early as possible. latest by 7am. Only 175 token are given for each working day
- Enquire security/anybody standing in the queue before join the queue. To make sure you are in the right queue (There are separate queues for OCI application, OCI collection and PIO/passport services)
- An adult can submit only his immediate family members Spouse and children.
- Need 1 set of self attested photocopies of Foreign passport, Naturalisation certificate, Surrender certificate and Indian Revoked passport. do not forget to carry originals.
- Ensure photograph are 50mm x50 mm/ 2" X2"
- Carry Cash/postal orders ONLY. Credit/debit cards are not accepted. Postal order will cost £12.50 as service charge for £175 (£187.50)
- Look @ weather forecast for the day and be prepared
- Greet OCI staff and they will be nice to you :-)

All the best and god bless you!

Hi

I have sent my British PP for OCI sticker on Aug 30th till now no response. I have emailed them twice no reply, called them 100 times but managed to talk to them twice they keep on extending by saying we will send you next week..etc. Its looks like they have not opened my post yet. Its just getting RIDICULOUS. Iam supposed to attend my H1 visa this week I might go to B'ham to pickup my passport. B'ham HCI is just useless...

OCI at Birmingham CGI

Post by mehp » Tue Sep 24, 2013 3:46 pm

Hi,
I got OCI approved on 04-SEP and sent passport on 05-SEP for stamping but have not received them back.
After many tries finally I managed to talk to them and they said this month they received highest number of OCI applications/collections and hence its taking 3-4 weeks.

Lets see if its true then I should get by next week.

OCI card timeline for HCI London

Post by avinash3993 » Tue Sep 24, 2013 4:51 pm

Hi,

I have submitted OCI application for my wife and son on 8 August 2013 in person at the HCI-London. I am constantly checking the status on Online services for OCI website but just getting " no records found" message. Also tried to contact HCI via email but emails are bouncing back. No luck on the phone as well.

Has anyone applied for OCI during August 2013. I would really appreciate if anyone could be able advise or share experience.

I have applied on 16th Aug to HCI London by Post. I haven't received any acknowledgement or surrender certificate till now. Status is now started to showing as 'Under Process' from past 2 weeks.

I have tried to send an email to HCL London about my surrender certificate, but it keeps bouncing back. Not sure how long this process is going to take...bit annoying..

It will take at least 8wks - 10wks when you apply from HCI B'ham. I don't think you will get earlier than that. I have applied in person on 20th Jun and my documents arrived back from Delhi on 30th Aug.
