Hi Sarvosuper,
Congratulations and thank you for your information. It was very helpful. A small query to you. I have applied and now the status shows received at London. can I straight away send all the documents through special delivery or will they inform me to send. But their website say that if the status says received at London i can straight away send my documents. slightly confused. Thank you

Reading the recent post on this website, It seems London seems a lot more efficient, The staff seem alot more helpful and not arrogant and ignorant like the staff in Birmingham. Birmingham is a total shambles, the staff are corrupt allowing "agents" and others to push in, they look for any excuse to turn people away. They think everyone is uneducated and illiterate. The office is more like a unemployment office from the early 70's. Clearly the staff lack customer services skills altogether. I could carry on....

well done to London, Birmingham you should be embarrassed and ashamed as you represent India, yet you fail miserably, The attitude of the staff must change rather then blame the system.

I was turned away from Birmingham recently and i made exactly the same application in London and they accepted it.

I'm posting this as a proactive step to find out which route is supposed to be the fastest. I would like to apply for OCI for myself and live close to Birmingham so ideally it should be Birmingham embassy I should be applying at but I've seen Birmingham mission are usually slow in almost everything (may be down to low staffing)

Should be applying In person at Birmingham OR Postal application to London ?

Which one you reckon would be faster?
Avoid Birmingham, the staff are rude, arrogant, ignorant, lazy, complete lack of customer service skills, no comprehension of compassion, no real understanding of the actual rules and policies, they will just say you have got the right documents " go away"

i made application at london which has been accepted without issue with exactly the same documents i presented at birmingham,
I got to Birmingham office at 7am and finally got my turn at 12pm, People push in, Agents are allowed to push in by the staff(i wander why)

when I was served finally the lady looked at my documents so many times to find fault, when she couldnt she turned to a colleague who tried to find fault but when I clarified they were wrong, they phone a manager, I could the flirting between the two them from the smiles on the lady's face, In the end the manager just said if you dont want to process it, just turn him away, and thats what she done. and refused to talk to me further

You should email the OCI team in London, there may be a problem with your photos/paperwork.

They will not contact you, it is down to you to email them

I'm trying to check my status at https://passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury

I'm getting No such record found message for all my family records.

Anyone else facing the same issue?
