Submitted my grandsons application on 3 May and its processed and at Birmingham on 28 May.

Hi,
We have applied for OCI as a family of 4 but status is still showing as 'Under Process'. Has anybody had any updates recently in July for applications submitted in June? The US CKGS site says that processing is delayed due to technical upgrades in India. Wondering if the same applies for UK applications too.

Update on two OCI application timelines with some pointers

Points to note: VFS did not want to accept application stating pictures are too dark, I dont think that was the case and told them to accept the application with the pics. All processed, so its VFS which creates issues

They dont give the £8 envelopes, only £15 ones. So, if you want to save money take the Royal Mail envelopes

Lastly, double check the application. We had a miss on our part in application: Place of Birth - London and in Passport it said Kingston. To be honest, never noted it till VFS pointed it out. I was lucky to redo the application and submit it on the same day.

Hi Member,

I have filled up OCI online applications and uploaded all the documents for my daughter who is 6 weeks old. Myself and and my wife are OCI cardholders and hold British passport.

I am confused about OCI document requirements for 'Birth Certificate'. Could someone clarify if the UK issued birth certificate to be Apostled or endorsed by the concerned Indian Mission abroad if we apply with in the UK.

Don't know why they haven't dispatch it yet. I have spoken to Birmingham consulate thinking they may have issue with their system like they had in the past but they haven't received yet. ANd I was told to wait till it comes to Birmingham.

Its been nearly a week since status changed to 'Processed'

Any advice will be helpful

Dear Forum members,
Kindly advise on my situation: I am trying to make an OCI application as I received indian passport surrender certificate recently. I understand that application needs to be submitted in person at VFS centre. As i am trying to book an appointment, I note that dates are available only from 16th Oct onwards (London centres). I am conscious that it will take anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks to get OCI post my application submission at VFS.
I need to travel to India in mid-Nov, thus, i wonder if there is a way of securing VFS appointment sooner? Is it typical to get this long waiting period before one can submit the application?
