Hi Sir,

Could you please help me with the template of the email you have dropped for your daughter OCI application?

Regards
Vishal

Please find below, email I sent once the application had been processed but OCI was not mailed for few days.

To whomsoever it may concern,

I, XXX, r/o ADDRESS, applied for an OCI card for myself, my wife (YYY) & my minor daughter (XYZ D.O.B. DDMMYY , Passport Number: NNNNNNNNN ), together on ddmmyy at VFS London-Goswell Road centre. I along with my wife have already received our OCI card two days ago.

As per the OCI services portal my daughter's application was processed on ddmmyy, however, we are yet to receive her OCI card.

Please find below mentioned details

XYZ GBRLXXXXXX

I hope you would be kind enough to look into the above at the earliest.

Thank-you for your time and consideration in advance.

Yours sincerely,

I submitted my oci application today at the consular camp where HCI did not ask for any physical photograph, I guess only the digital one should be good enough.

Has anyone else has this experience?

Hi all,

For OCI application, do we need a physical print photo, or a digital photo would suffice?

Thanks,
K.
You will need 2 printed copies as well at the time of submission at VFS. Printed Photos should be the same as the digital copy uploaded online. Else application won't be accepted.

Hi Vishal

Can you pls confirm when was your application status updated from 'Under process' to whatever the next status is, before you have received it on 24th Sep?

I am just trying to track if I have a chance to receive my son OCI before my currently scheduled flight date or not.

Thanks, HM

Hi everyone,
I am looking to apply OCI for my son (3 years old). He received his British naturalisation certificate in July. We have applied for his UK passport and its in waiting. So now preparing for the next steps.

Would I need to go to the VFS center in London twice? Once for surrendering the Indian Passport, then wait to receive surrender certificate. Then apply for OCI, again in person? This cannot be done in one appointment?

Many thanks

Hi I would appreciate if someone could help!

My 4year old British Passport expiring in May2022 and we are travelling to India mid Dec 2021. We have OCI card too. If I renew the passport do I need to renew OCI card??? Will I get OCI card before I travel to India???

Or

Can I travel to India on current passport and come back in January and do the application later???

Please advice.

Hi
They take your British Passport and Surrender Certificate at VFS the day you submit your application. After verification, the HCI/CGI return it immediately. In my case I received the original documents after 3 days of submission of application. They won't hold back your original documents until a decision is made on your OCI Application. Hope this helps!

Thanks

Will I get OCI card before I travel to India??? No need to apply again.

Or

Can I travel to India on current passport and come back in January and do the application later??? You may travel immediately after updating details.

Thanks for your response. I have been trying around those sort of times and other random times since the 20th of September but with little success. Has anyone been successful in getting a slot recently?

Not to long to go … most probably around 17th your status should change … as of now its taking anywhere between 30-40 days to receive the OCI card, in most cases.

Buddy don't forget "most probably", I said that date because mostly people are getting oci delivered in 30 days .... the status begins to change almost a week before that.

Status changes to PROCESSED and dates of printing, dispatch from India and recieved at VFS are updated.

Mostly it's the same day or couple of days difference in between.
