Hi KUMARVK,

I am also planning to apply OCI in person to London, could you please tell me whether they gave you the acknowledgment number there and then? when you applied OCI in person.

also could you please give me the address where you applied.

Hi there,

I applied for the OCI at HCI London last week. They do give you an acknowledgement slip that has a file number and also the ref no which is on part A of the form. If you check your status on the mea website with either of these references, it shows "Acknowledged".

Hope that helps

Planning to submit my OCI Application in HCI London in a couple of days. Any ideas what is the photo size we should supply. I am throughly confused with 2 different sizes mentioned in the application form and the HCI London website.

In addition, there is a small doubt that has surfaced my mind- The OCI application is only for me and my kid. My wife is still an Indian Citizen. That said, i was not able to make a family application since the spouse details are mandatory while filling up. So i have made 2 seperate applications one for me and one one for my son. Is this the right way? I am asking since in the application form in the place i am signing for my son, it mentions as signature of first applicant..

It would be great if someone could clarify

Thanks,
I went to Jessops and asked them for photos that match USA visa requirements and those worked for me. I've heard that USA visa photos from Snappy Snaps work as well.

Thanks,
Photographs: Two photographs [51x51mm, (WITH 80% COVERAGE BY FACE) should be pasted & signed at the respective boxes provided in the form. Two additional photographs must be attached in small envelope separately. Photographs should be of light colour background (not white) with front pose, both shoulders and both ears visible.

for OCI, you need to fill an online application. Complete this form, print it and submit personally. The number printed on this application is your acknowledgment number for status checking.

3 weeks for putting the OCI sticker on, and no reply

Post by benz52 » Tue Apr 27, 2010 4:16 pm

I've sent all of my family's British passports to HCI London by post (special delivery) after the oci website confirmed that the docs were received by London office. It has now been 3 weeks since they have received our Brit passports but we have not received them back or nothing at all for that matter. We had included a special delivery return envelope as well.

Is this normal??

Hi Jinu,

Good news. I called the number on page number 42 and left a voice message. The HCI actually called me back within 2 hours and said that they will dispatch my passports the same day. They did so and today we have got our passports back.

Try the number and leave the voice message.

Good luck

I think only those submitted before 27th February 2010 have been fully processed and dispatched to London by May 18th

In fairness, they do say that it will take up to 12 weeks.

I guess it's a waiting game with patience.
