Hi,

Can someone help/advise about the process to surrender the Indian passport while still waiting for British passport to be processed?
I have received approval of naturalization and am expecting the certificate to be in the post sometime next week but the citizenship ceremony is only scheduled for April! I do not want to wait until April to surrender my Indian passport as i want to travel to India in July and want to have the OCI card by then.

The VFS website for surrender documents required does mention that we can apply for surrender while the British passport is under process.

Has anyone on this forum done their surrender application successfully without the British passport? If so, can you please share the template of declaration that you sent to VFS?

Hi guys,

I submitted my application for surrender of Indian passport at Hounslow office today.
I pasted only 1 photograph on the application form but just checked the website we need to submit 2 photographs. Even the guy taking my documents didn't ask for another photograph.

Has anyone else given one photo?

Hi, I have a question ...?Is it Okay to give a letter stating the British passport is under process and would sumbmit at the time of OCI application. Has anyone got the surrender certificate without British passport

There is a spelling error in father's name. Called the contact centre and they told to the vfs centre between 8:30am 3:30pm to get it corrected. Am going there today.
