Hi there... were you able to figure out how to register birth? I've filled the online form but kind of stuck what to do next as I'm also not finding an option to book an appointment.ksrangal wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2017 6:56 pmHello,
I want to register my daughter's birth. I know I have to fill online application. But I can't find if I need to book appointment to submit my documents.
I'm following https://www.hcilondon.in/pages.php?id=85 to fill online application.
Do I need to visit HCI London or I can visit any VFS office in UK ?
How and where I can book appoint for new born birth registration ?
UK birth certificate - got it on the same day I booked the appointment. They print it then and there.dewdrops1420 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 11:35 amHi,
Could someone tell me the time frames for getting UK birth certificate,Indian birth certificate,Indian citizenship,Indian passport and visa for baby born in UK.
My baby is due in May and I'm doubting if I can travel to India within 3 months after the long processes mentioned here.
Hi,It's not allowing me to submit just the child application. Its written primary applicant is always an adult.ksrangal wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2017 6:06 pmI booked the appointment at Birmingham consulate office.
https://www.vfsvisaservice.com/IHC-UK-A ... eUVLcp3A4=
- Select ' Birmingham' for 'Select VAC:'
- select ' Consular Service' for 'Services:'
I got the Birth certificate within a week. Now, I have applied for passport, waiting for it.
Well, I have to say service is not that great. Typical 'Govt office' - No queue , no management.
Feel free to message me to if u have any question.
Quick Question in the Passport Application:damle_madhur wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 3:21 pmHi All,
I recently submitted application for my Daughter's passport born in the UK in London VFS
Sharing the process.
Fill the birth registration form online on HCIlondon website and then take an appointment. finding where the "appointments" link is tricky and not easily available and fortunately I stumbled upon it after searching for almost 2 weeks. On the home page of HCIlondon scroll down and on the left there is a small square "book appointment".
once you get appointment, be ready to wait for almost an hour if you reach exactly at the time of appointment, My appointment was at 10 AM and I reached there at 945. it is first come first serve basis for that time slot I guess, so if you go early at around 9 AM then you might be seen at 10 AM.
Original and Copy Birth Certificate

Now for Passport - this is via VFS
Take appointment, this is very striaght forward on VFS site or call them they

Original Marraige certificate and copy
Original Birth certificate and copy
Original Birth registration certificate and copy
Original Passport and copy of both parents
Original BRP/Visa and copy of both parents

Can I print the photo myself at home on a photographic paper? I guess so as long as it's decent enough. Having said that, you don't want to waste your time if they say it's not good enough. So better get a proper one (take more photos for Passport as well, which you would apply shortly I'd imagine)
The form has only my signatures on it. Will that be sufficient? Both parents have to sign. Check second page, which says "Signature of parents". Also, both parents need to sign on the "Declaration for Birth Registration of Child" form as well + stick a photo to this form.
can I go alone for the appointment. Yes, just make sure you have all the right documentation, i.e. marriage cert., copy of passport of both parents (self attested, so get your wife to sign on her passport copy), UK birth certificate of child, etc.
