Overstaying declared date - Visitor Visa

Post by rshelar » Sat Jul 02, 2022 7:24 pm

Hi,

Can anyone advise what happens if a person over stays their declared dates on Visitor Visa?

Example - if a person makes an application for visitor visa saying they want to visit the UK for 7 days, but land at the UK Border with a return flight in 21 days - is that allowed or cause any issues in entering ?

Even if the person gets through entry clearance and is allowed to enter, if they leave the UK in 21 days contradicting the 7 days they stated on application form and cover letter - will that be an issue for any future UK applications?

Thanks

Possibly.

The visitor may have to explain why they overstayed the amount of days that they had declared on their previous application. And they should certainly not make it a habit. Otherwise, why should the Entry Clearance Officer believe them on any future application?

Many thanks.

Yea, this isn't overstaying visa conditions - but I am more concerned if this would be an issue at entry clearance at the port of entry with the immigration officer?

The person would have a return ticket at a later date.
