Overtime allowances credited in bank account from company

Post by Sweetypooja » Fri Nov 26, 2010 7:47 am

Dear Seniors,

I get a overtime allowances every month in my account from my company and its is mentioned as NEFT -1011163291N00144-my company name.
Can i show the evidence as my bank account credits from my company ?

This is not included in my CTC/gross earnings.
It is not reflected in my payslip.

I get around 9000 in a month.

Can i claim the points in my earnings?

Need urgent help on this,as if this can be claimed i can file for TEIR 1 gen in December 2010.

If you can get a letter from your employer stating the same, then it 'may' be considered as income.

Unfortunately UKBA assumes that salary has to be monthly and such adhoc payments should be a part of credited salary.

Although, they clearly mention that any 'allowances' against expenses cannot be considered as part of income. So in your case if you get a letter from the employer stating that it is for 'Legal Overtime Work', it could work in your favour.

Alternatively, you can seek professional advice by paying minimal charges for this specific query.
Thanks,
Sumit.

Thanks for the promp reply Sumit!

My company will not be able to provide the letter for the overtime payment.

Also the amount is credited to my secondary account and not my salary account.
