PAGE NO FOR VISA STAMP

Post by spactular » Fri Jul 06, 2007 2:58 pm

Hi

A general question, hope someone will answer.

When a passport is stamped for ILR or ELR etc, is there a particular page no where it is stamped. I have seen mostly page 8 or 10 or 12, why they are not using pages like 9,11,13 etc. This is in relation to UK visas.

Regards

All our six passports are stamped in 9,11,13 and 15 apart from one stamp that is in page 12. That is throughout 10 years period. It is otherway round in my case.

Many people have lots of stamps in their passport already, which are on random pages. ILR and other stamps will be done on a blank page so as to not obscure an existing stamp.

I doubt there is an officially preferred page. When you fly into the UK, it never seems like the immigration people automatically go directly to, for instance, page 9. They seem to ruffle through all the pages until they find it.

If you give them 10000 blank passports to be endorsed with ILR, it would be interesting to see the distribution of pages where the stamps end up on. Probably also depends on where the particular national passport falls open to most easily.

They can't put it on my page 6 8 10 as they are full
I had to put extra pages in my passport and they already put one of the renewal stickers on one of them so ... not for me it will be on their secretly preferred page
