Parents Visit Visa

Post by hsmp2006 » Sun Aug 08, 2010 3:41 pm

All

My parents are scheduled to visit UK in the mid of September. I am planning to apply for their Visa from India around mid of August under Family Visitor category. I am going to sponsor their entire trip and showing a savings of 5000 GBP.

Need help with following question in VAF1B (Family Visitor):

Question 5.9:
"Have you ever worked for any organisation of a type (state or non-state) listed below?"

Answer Choice:
Government (central or local) Yes/No

My parents are teachers and it is a Public sector job. It has nothing to do with Government Administration. If I choose "Yes" for this choice, I will have to mention their complete job history (worked in 10-15 different places during last 30 years). I don't have any issue in gathering and specifying this information. But am I unnecessarily complicating the application? Also, do I need to attach documents proving their work history.

Advice really appreciated.

Thanks,
hsmp2006.

You should state what is factually correct - which is they are in Government Service. Remember - in addition to the above details all Government employees should get (1) leave from their employer and (2) get a No Objection Certificate (to travel abroad) from their departments. BHC India knows about these requirements and are too happy to reject applications if original evidence of the above are not provided.

I would also advise you to apply as early as possible.

Documents to prove employment history are not required - a simple table detailing place, designation and year of posts should suffice.

NOC

Post by hsmp2006 » Mon Aug 23, 2010 11:48 am

Thanks Push.

I was wondering if NOC is absolutely mandatory since it is not part of mandatory list of documents in the application form. It takes a long time to obtain one for Govt employees I believe. This wait will spoil all our plans. I called VFS office in Bangalore and they did confirm that its good to submit NOC but it is not mandatory.
