Parents visiting UK

Hello Forum,

I hold ILR, and plan to bring my parents to UK for 6 months and take them to different visiting places here . As per my understanding there are two visa categories against which I can bring them to UK

1)General Visitor visa
2)Family Visitor visa

Which one do you suggest ?

Additionally how much money needs to be in my parents bank account to prove that they can financially support their visit ? Finally, do they need to show confirmed air ticket or planned inward and outward from travel agent is fine ?

It appears there is little differences now. The Family visa would appear most suitable. I'd give a rough guide of £3500.
