Parliamentary Human Rights Committee report on HSMP changes

Just posted this on the UK immigration board in response to another post, but it might be better here:

The joint Commons and Lords Human Rights Committee has published its report on changes to the immigration rules affecting HSMP visa holders, and the report is available on-line here and here. News items about it available, for example, from the BBC, the Telegraph and the Guardian.

i had started a thread on the same issue yesterday even before the report was officially released today.

No, it wasn't; in fact, it was another thread that didn't actually refer to the report itself. Anyway, links to the report above, as noted.

Of course, the report itself is all very well, but it remains to be seen what effect, if any, it has in practice.
