Partner likely to fail 10 year ilr - what's next

Hello,

My partner's 10 year ILR route is coming to an end later this month, however she has failed the A2 test, which will result in a failed/refused ILR. What happens next, can she extend her stay for a further 2.5 years, taking the total to 12.5 years. Or will it be a straight refusal with some form of appeal/review. If IRLS is refused and not extended, what would be next step?

Any help/advice will be appreciated.

I think she requires at least a B1 level English Language for ILR. Else, She may extend her leave for a further 2.5 years.

If her circumstances are the same as her last extension, then she may keep on extending, until she can rely on 3.2.

An extension is the way to go. There are resources online to facilitate passing. For ILR B1 is required and this can then be used for naturalisation too. Did she attempt the Trinity College London SELT GESE at Level B1?
