passport validity required at the time of application URGENT

hi can anyone help me plz i just wanted to find out is there a requirement for my passport to be valid for at least 6mnths from the date of submission for my application to be accepted bqz from the date i am planning to apply it will be 5mnths and 26 days and i cant send it any earlier as i am waiting for a letter from my university thanks
