Payment of Visa Application Fee

My wife in Venezuela is about to apply for her spouse visa.
I have agreed to pay for the hefty application fee. Can I do this directly? it looks like she will have to go and pay at the VAC in Caracas, she has no credit card and will be relying on a relative to go with her and pay. If I could pay securely by credit card from the UK rather than have to send the money to her family (Moneygram, bank transfer etc) with the hassle and transaction charges that entails.
